SCOTTISH POLICE BADGE
Morayshire Constabulary Cap Badge.
Originally created as the Elginshire Constabulary in 1840, it was renamed the Morshire Constabulary on 8 January 1920. The coat-of-arms on the badge are the same as those used by the former Elginshire Force. There were approx. 30 members of the force in 1900.
The force became part of the Moray & Nairn Constabulary on 16 June 1930.
This is an original issue badge of oxidized silver. White metal versions were issued without the tail to the Garter.
Note - the top of the crown is missing. We do not know if the metal plate at the back of the badge under the crown . This appears to be a reinforcing plate installed by the manufacturer.
All reasonable offer will be considered.
